That Freegift Nye is the mother of Cornelia Stanbrough-Ayars comes from Cornelia's Death Certificate (0018).

Information about Freegift Nye-Stanbrough's death comes from a Letter to the YOUTH'S INSTRUCTOR (Vol. II, No. 4, p. 31, April, 1854) from daughter Cornelia Stanbrough-Ayars. Cornelia states that her mother died when Cornelia was nine years old (i.e. calculated year of death is 1832).

Place of Birth [i.e. New York] based upon information in the 1880 Census, Gratiot County, Michigan, North Shade Township, Page 562, Dwelling #193, Family #194.

Freegift was listed as a member of the First Brookfield, NY, SDB Church prior to 1809, along with her father, Benjamin Nye, and mother, Abigail [Briggs] Nye. (0020) [In order to be a member of a Baptist Church, she must have been an adult; thus, not younger than age twelve in 1809. Also, she must have gotten married subsequent to 1809.]
