Birth & Death: AYARS, SARAH CAROLINE MINER--Sarah Caroline Miner-Ayres, born June 26, 1854 in Van Wert County, Ohio, fell asleep in Jesus February 1, 1950, at the Edmore Hospital. At the age of twelve she and her parents settled near Carson City, Mich. She accepted the Seventh-day Sabbath through the efforts of Elder Brackett and A. O. Burrell. In 1878 she was married to Frank Ayres who preceded her in death exactly thirty-three years ago. To this home were added three children, --Orville, now of Kalamazoo, Ernest of Washington, D.C., who spen twenty years in South America, and Edna DeVries of Cedar Lake. Those left besides the children are a brother, Perry Miner, of Otsego, eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grand-children, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. She was laid to rest in the Mountain Home cemetery in Otsego, by the side of her husband. (H. A. Weaver) (Obituary, Lake Union Herald, Feb. 21, 1950; Review and Herald, Mar. 30, 1950.)
