Ezekial was born in Shiloh, New Jersey. He went to High School, became chief clerk at the Department of the Interior and lived in Silver Spring, Maryland. Ezekial died of a stroke and is interred at the Seventh Day Baptist Cemetery in Shiloh. Ezekial earned top rank in the civil service, above him were only presidential appointees. He was very fond of practical jokes and teased the family members regularly. Note: Name spelling from "Ayars" to "Ayers" seems to have been established by Ezekial.
