He is said to be his a cousin of his wife, Lucy, but his ancestry has yet to be established. He was a storekeeper in New York, but studied for the ministry and became a Presbyterian preacher in Ann Arbor, Flint and Saginaw, Michigan. He died at Saginaw 8-Sep-1852.
