He recanted, got out of prison, and forthwith, moved to theNew World, taking a pastorate in Walley's father's bailiwick, as I recall. Not doing well, he nearly starved, was recalled by his England pulpit, and was about to leave, when he was offered the Presidency of Harvard. He was the second president, and remained so for nearly something like 40 years. Anyway, Charles and Catherine had several children, one Isaac, father of Charles, who married Sarah Walley.
