!DATE: King Edward II was born 1284, ascended the throne in 1307, and reigned 20 years when he was deposed. He was murdered in 1327, and was buried in Gloucester Cathedral. See THE KINGS AND QUEENS OF ENGLAND, devised and edited by Eric R. Delderfield, Stein and Day, New York, 1981, p. 48.
!SOURCE: Rev. Allen Stewart Hartigan, M.A. in A SHORT ACCOUNT OF THE FAMILY OF EYRE OF EYRECOURT AND EYRE OF EYREVILL IN THE COUNTY OF GALWAY, nd, p. 5. The eldest line of the family from Stephen Eyre continued to live at Bromham, and are recorded in the visitation of 1623, but they appear to have gone down in wealth and position, and are now supposed to be extinct.
